President's Message - September 2007
Norman Salisbury
President
Dear Fellow Owners and Residents:
This month we held out Annual Meeting of the Owners and Mike Gravitz was re-elected to another three year term as a member of the Board of Trustees. The Board also invited Bruce Hiatt to serve on the Building Improvement Committee. Even though he is relatively new to American Towers, he has a strong desire to assist and advise the Board and also has impressive credentials and experience in high rise mechanical systems.
We have been in communication with Hamilton Partners regarding their proposed use of our alley to service their own high rise parking garage. Even though they have some hurdles to overcome, they appear to be moving ahead with demolition and construction. We have a few remaining sticking points on a proposed agreement with them. We anticipate circulating the agreement and a summary to all owners and discussing it in a meeting with our attorney and the Board before we would approve any such agreement. At this juncture it appears that Hamilton Partners has agreed to our requirements but these need to be discussed in detail with all owners.
Once again, in this newsletter is another copy of the Evacuation Assistance Request form. If any residents may require assistance during an emergency evacuation, please fill out the request form, however, it is not necessary to submit a new form to the management office if you have recently done so. These forms are given to emergency response teams as soon as they arrive and they will provide the evacuation assistance. I would like to encourage all owners to review your safety advisories and emergency procedures. We have provided copies of these to you in the past but additional copies are always available in the office.
Please remember to care for our facilities and common areas. When they are abused or damaged it results in additional costs to us all. Please refrain from taking any glass containers to the rooftop areas as broken glass can result in roof leaks that are extremely expensive to locate and repair. Also remember that when purchasing a new refrigerator, there are water connections for the ice maker and water dispenser. These may require a water shut off if you did not have these valves recently replaced. Please review all of our rules. They can be found on our website at www.americantowers.org. Copies are also available in the office.
Your Board wishes to thank you again for your support. We look forward to your input in our continued dealings with Hamilton Partners.
Sincerely,
Norman J. Salisbury
President
