President's Message - December 2002

Norman Salisbury
President

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Happy Holidays! It's so exciting to have the weather start getting colder, the decorations starting to go up and the good smells start permeating. Living downtown, there is so much to do during this time of year. I love the holidays and I'm excited to spend them here in American Towers with our great community.

I've always been struck by the words of Donald E. Westlake when he said, "As we struggle with shopping lists and invitations, compounded by December's bad weather, it is good to be reminded that there are people in our lives who are worth this aggravation, and people to whom we are worth the same. "This quotation is striking to me for two reasons. The first is for its beauty and the second is for how poetically he states just how aggravating the holidays can be.

It isn't always easy to be peaceful, joyful, merry time of year. I want to encourage all of us, primarily myself, to use this season as a catalyst for developing an even stronger community. While the hustle and bustle often takes priority in our lives, let us not forgo the opportunity to cultivate the spirit of the holidays into our relationships with one another.

I'm looking forward to a new year. I am going to resolve continue to be involved in our community and find even more opportunities to serve. I hope you will join me in this resolution. I want to wish you all a Happy Holiday and a bright New Year.

Thank you,

Norm Salisbury
